Why it won't press send

Why ahahmm won't press send for you

  1. ahahmmfinds the people.

  2. ahahmmjudges who is worth answering.

  3. ahahmmdrafts the reply.

  4. ahahmmfills it in.

  5. Youpress send.

ahahmm finds the people, judges, drafts and fills in. The last press of “send” is yours, on the platform's own page. That is always so when you answer someone else, and today it is so for your own posts too. ahahmm is technically able to press it and doesn't, because the platforms forbid it and the cost would fall on your account.

Rules and figures checked on September 30, 2026.

Four reasons it stops there

1. The platforms' rules say a person has to do the tapping

Pressing “approve” inside ahahmm is not pressing on the platform's screen. Each rule below says so in its own words.

“Use non-API-based forms of automation, such as scripting the X website. The use of these techniques may result in the permanent suspension of your account.”

X automation rules

“Sending automated replies to posts based on keyword searches alone is not permitted.”

X automation rules

“If a human is not tapping on the screen, the account and all associated accounts will likely be suspended—even if you're just experimenting.”

Nikita Bier, X's head of product, February 2026
More rules, as written

“Programmatic replies via POST /2/tweets are now only permitted when the original Post's author has “summoned” the replier.”

X API changelog, February 23, 2026

“Apps must not circumvent any labeling performed by Reddit. App accounts should solely be used to perform app functions (no mixed use accounts).”

Reddit Responsible Builder Policy, updated June 5, 2026

“Don't post generated text or AI-edited text.”

Hacker News guidelines

“请不要把 AI 生成的内容发送到这里”

V2EX, About (revised July 27, 2025)

“bots or other unauthorized automated methods to… create, comment on, like, share, or re-share posts”

LinkedIn User Agreement, November 3, 2025

2. However human it looks, it gets recognised, and we don't do evasion

A click made by a program differs from a person's, and the browser itself marks it. Platforms also watch patterns: when things are sent, the habit of replying the moment a search matches, and many accounts writing alike. Making that undetectable means doing evasion, a cat-and-mouse game with no end, and when it is lost your account pays.

“The first one's comments were killed because our software classified them as genai.”

3. A tool that posts for everyone puts all of their accounts at risk at once

  • In 2026 X removed 42,000 accounts that used chatbots to reply automatically (Bier, as reported by Startup Fortune, July 25, 2026).
  • Since March 31, 2026 Reddit labels automated accounts [App] and removes about 100,000 accounts a day (TechCrunch, March 25, 2026).
  • ReplyGuy, which replied on Reddit automatically to sell things, was mobbed on Hacker News the day it launched (“Warn HN: ReplyGuy”, May 2, 2024, 74 points); Reddit classes such accounts as spam.
  • GummySearch, with 135,000 users, closed because of one decision by Reddit (its own “final chapter” page, November 2025).

4. Writing risks far more than reading

Today ahahmm only reads, with your sign-in; the worst that happens is a day of being rate-limited. Once it wrote for you, the worst would be a banned account and your words marked as spam.

Why Hacker News and V2EX get a draft too, with the risk written under it

Both sites ban AI-written text in so many words, and Hacker News hides it automatically. A draft you read and changed is still, on its face, “AI-edited”. That risk falls on your account alone, so whether to send is yours to decide. ahahmm does not decide it for you by giving you a few points and leaving the writing to you. These two sites get a full draft like everywhere else, only shorter, in plain text, and reading like something a person typed. One line under it says the site bans AI-written text and what happens when it is recognised. You can send it as it is, put it in your own words first, or not send it.

When the rules change

ahahmm checks this table again before each release. When a platform opens an official way to reply or to fill a reply in, that row moves forward; when one tightens, it moves back. It never does one step more because a platform has not noticed yet.
